Today, a powerful quote:
"As long as space endures,
As long as sentient beings remain,
May I likewise remain
To dispel the sorrows of the world."

Sacrifices
This is an original poem I composed in honor of Black History Month.
From every sunrise,
Waking in liberty.
Fractured foundation.
Through the eyes of those left behind,
Shining light.
Blinding light,
Exposing shadows.
Land of the free, but not for free.
Broken spirits of our fathers.
Driven from our native lands,
Cursed with disease and death.
Shipped across an ocean,
In bondage.
A blood stained trail of tears.
Sorrow filled plantations.
Wounded Knee.
Civil War.
This country, our people.
Tears,
Pain,
Sacrifice.
We have fought for,
The Dream.
We fight for,
The awakening.
Our destiny,
Our hands,
Our choice.
We must never forget,
Generations to come.
Great have been the sacrifices.
Building our future,
Marching in freedom,
Towards every sunset.
